Note From Jeff Hofman, KSER 90.7 FM, Everett,WA USA:
"I decided on doing the Detroit
Emeralds mini show on April 9th and it will air from 9:30-10:00 (PST).
By then, we (KSER) should be moved into our new location".
Jeff's tribute to the Detroit Emeralds was wonderful. Thanks
Jeff!
05/23/04 - Jeff of KSER 90.7 FM, in Everett WA USA will be doing his annual
"Dusties Memorial Day Tribute Show". There are three remaining shows before Jeff takes his annual summer
break. The three remaining shows will air May 28, June 4 and June 11. In the May 28 and June 4 shows, he
will feature 60's and 70's soul artists who are no longer with us. Normally he does the "Dusties Memorial
Day Tribute Show" the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, but since he's still running "Let The Good Times
Roll," he has decided to make it two parts. On his May 28 show, he will be playing a Detroit Emeralds
song (one that he didn't play on the tribute show). He has informed us that he will try to do this around 8:30pm
(PST). Right before the Detroit Emeralds song, Jeff will be playing a song from The Fantastic Four who's lead singer
"Sweet" James Epps was a cousin of Abrim and Ivory Tilmon. Jeff's Friday night shows are great! We're sure
you will enjoy the show and hope you will be able to listen via the Internet. Please go to : http://www.kser.org/shows/dusties/home.html
09/09/04 This Friday (Sept 10th) marks the
return of the Dusties show to the airwaves. As usual, the show will begin at 8:00 PM
(PST) and can be heard either on 90.7 FM or over the internet. If you need instructions on how to get the show to come
in over the internet, simply click on this link to Dustie's website http://www.kser.org/shows/dusties/home.html follow the instructions on the introduction page.
Welcome back Jeff. You were missed!
Special Note:
On many web sites Paul Riser,
Sr. is noted as being a former singer with the Detroit Emeralds. Below are some excerpts taken from an email we received from
Paul Riser, Jr. setting the record straight.
Per Paul Riser Jr.: ....."my Dad never sang for the Detroit Emeralds
:) But, he was a producer/arranger @ Motown. He still does lots of music for lots of artists and musical groups. .....That was shocking!! I had never heard him mention the Detroit
Emeralds, but I just talked to to my dad and clarified the fact that he only did work for the group and never has been a singer
.....he laughed a long time about that when I told him. I appreciate the fact that you are working towards clarifying
what we know can be a big problem...misinformation on the Internet. Please let everyone know my dad is only a producer/composer/arranger
and not a vocalist :) Thanks much and have a Happy New Year. Paul, Jr."
